Kelly Rowland is showing Cardi B some major love after the rapper gave her an unexpected shoutout during her NPR Tiny Desk Concert, which premiered Monday, October 19.
The Destiny’s Child singer caught wind of Cardi’s performance of “ErrTime” and wasted no time showing her appreciation. Rowland jumped into the comments under a clip of the performance, writing, “I. LOVE. THIS!!”
The moment came as Cardi switched up the lyrics to her song “ErrTime,” replacing a reference to fellow rapper Latto with Kelly Rowland’s name.
Cardi made the change while performing a reimagined version of the track, which appears on her 2025 sophomore album, “Am I the Drama?” The rapper also changed the lyric a second time to reference her younger sister, Hennessy Carolina.
Cardi’s Tiny Desk debut featured eight songs spanning her career, including “Hello,” “Man of Your Word,” “Be Careful,” “Up,” “AH HA,” “Bodak Yellow,” and “I Like It.”
According to NPR, the rapper was joined by a live band led by music director Adam Blackstone. The concert drew one of the largest crowds NPR producer Alanté Serene had seen at the office, with some people unable to get inside to watch.
The intimate performance also gave Cardi an opportunity to deliver new arrangements of her records. Pitchfork reported that she performed the eight songs in approximately 18 minutes, backed by a nine-piece band.
As for Rowland, her excitement didn’t end in the comment section. The singer also shared Cardi’s performance to her Instagram Story, adding another enthusiastic message: “GET IT CARDI!!!”
