Kenny Rodriguez has finally shared his side of his public breakup from JaNa Craig, but his attempt to clear the air quickly created another wave of controversy.
During an appearance on “The Journey Podcast” with host Zachary Cummings, Kenny discussed his relationship with JaNa, the private messages that surfaced after their split, and the backlash that followed. Kenny claimed the messages were taken from a private conversation with a friend and leaked after the relationship ended.
Kenny said he took “full accountability” for the messages and admitted he was “not proud” of what he wrote. However, he pushed back against accusations that the messages reflected racial prejudice. Kenny instead claimed he wrote them while venting about what he described as verbal mistreatment during the relationship.
Kenny Rodriguez also made claims about the final stages of his relationship with JaNa. He alleged that JaNa threatened to call the police on him. He also suggested that their “Love Island USA” castmate Kordell Beckham contacted him following the breakup.
Neither claim went unanswered.
Kordell posted a direct response to Kenny on his Instagram Stories and denied supporting his actions or comments.
“We not even gon get on how you sat on that podcast and lied the entire time, but what we not gon do is lie like I condoned anything you did/said. After YOU called me I got on that a** and we’ve haven’t spoken since. Shout out my sis Jana love you for life girl.”

Kordell concluded his message with another warning for Kenny Rodriguez.
“And keep my mf name out your mouth I don’t few you bro.”
Kordell’s response directly challenged Kenny’s suggestion that the “Love Island USA” winner reached out as a source of support. Kordell claimed Kenny was the person who initiated the call and said he confronted him during the conversation. He also made it clear that they have not spoken since.
JaNa also addressed the interview through her Instagram Stories. JaNa disputed Kenny’s claim about police involvement and said Kenny was actually the person who threatened to contact the police.
JaNa also claimed that Kenny previously sent her a cease and desist. She reportedly challenged him to give her permission to publicly release the messages connected to the breakup so viewers could evaluate them for themselves.
The latest exchange comes nearly one year after JaNa and Kenny Rodriguez ended the relationship they began after meeting on “Love Island USA” Season 6. The former couple finished the season in third place and continued dating outside the villa before separating in July 2025.
JaNa initially confirmed the split on Instagram with a statement that immediately signaled there was more to the breakup than viewers knew.
“Kenny and I are no longer together.”
She continued, “please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting, and disappointing it truly is.”
JaNa added, “Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating.”
People reported that JaNa later accused Kenny of being a “manipulative liar” after he released his own breakup statement. Several people close to JaNa subsequently made allegations involving racism, dishonesty, and clout chasing. Those accusations remained allegations, although Kenny’s new podcast interview confirms that private messages were central to the backlash.
More recently, JaNa told People that the breakup affected her confidence, but she had worked to rebuild it. She said she still loved herself, knew her worth, and was focused on moving forward.
Kenny Rodriguez may have entered the interview hoping to explain his silence, but the immediate responses from JaNa and Kordell have shifted the conversation toward which version of events the public believes.
