Kenya Moore is ready to “twirl” right past the rumors. The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star is breaking her silence after viral videos showed her salon equipment scattered on a Georgia sidewalk, sparking speculation that she had been evicted from her luxury hair spa.
The social media rumors gained traction after Kenya’s former co-star, Brit Eady, allegedly joined in on the shade, leading fans to believe Kenya was put out for being behind on her bills. While previous reports indicated a legal dispute over nearly $88,000 in unpaid rent and utilities, Kenya is framing the situation as a calculated move rather than a financial failure.
In a candid Instagram post shared Friday, Kenya explained that she is currently in the middle of a legal dispute with her landlord. “I have spent the last several weeks moving out of my salon as a result of my ongoing legal battle with the landlord who has failed to reimburse me nearly $80k of improvement funds I am rightfully owed,” she clarified. “My only recourse was to withhold rent and file a countersuit. I already have my outfit laid out for court chile!”
Kenya’s side of the story involves a significant personal investment. She claims she spent upwards of $300,000 to renovate the property, under the agreement that she would be reimbursed $80,000 for the improvements. When that money never materialized, she opted to stop rent payments and take the matter to court.
Despite the viral video, Kenya insists this isn’t a defeat, but a transition. She closed her statement by thanking her loyal clientele and hinting that a comeback is already in the works, “To all the amazing women and men who came in and twirled out in style, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
