Kevin Hart Says He’s Not Bothered By Cancel Culture Despite Being Canceled Multiple Times

Kevin Hart is speaking out again about cancel culture and how being “canceled” numerous times has never bothered him.

The “Ride Along” star stated that he “personally doesn’t give a sh–” about cancel culture during his recent interview with The Sunday Times.

“When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect? Where people were supposed to operate perfectly all the time? I don’t understand,” Hart said. “I don’t expect perfection from my kids. I don’t expect it from my wife, friends, employees. Because, last I checked, the only way you grow up is from f—— up. I don’t know a kid who hasn’t f—– up or done some dumb s–.”

Hart was previously “canceled” after several old tweets from 2009-2011 surfaced where the comedian made homophobic and other offensive jokes. The backlash took place in 2018 when it was announced that Hart would be hosting the 2019 Academy Awards. He eventually stepped away from the hosting and apologized to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Though he has moved on from the debacle, the 41-year-old says he does not allow the “canceling” to keep him down, even if he was in the wrong.

“If you allow it to have an effect on you, it will. Personally? That’s not how I operate.”

During his cover article with Men’s Health back in March, he reflected on the Oscar debacle and admitted he was wrong.

“With the whole Oscars thing, there was a big gap between what I thought the problem was versus what the problem really was,” he said. “What I thought it was it wasn’t, and my approach to dealing with it because of the assumption that I had is just wrong,”
