Kevin Hart and Netflix

Just months after Kevin Hart teamed up with Netflix for a family-friendly black history month lesson, the “Grown Little Man” is extending his business relationship with the streaming giant for the release of his new stand up special, “Kevin Hart: Irresponsible.”

“Mark your calendars damn it,” Hart wrote in his Instagram announcement. “My Comedy special will be dropping on April 2nd on Netflix. I can’t wait…Let’s go.”

Following the blueprint of his theatrical releases, the hour-long special will be Hart’s first original stand up special for the streaming service.

“Hart touches upon his friends, family, travel…and a year filled with Irresponsible behavior,” according to the special’s press release. In fact, the special follows a series of unfortunate events Hart faced over the last year, including his cheating scandal, extortion scandal, and all the drama in between.

However, it remains unclear if the special will touch on the Academy Awards controversy, in which Hart was scheduled to host but stepped down after backlash over his old homophobic tweets. In the meantime, Hart joins a long list of comedians, who’ve taken their talents to the streaming giant, including Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, and Ellen DeGeneres.
