A Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) worker in Tennessee saved the life of a woman who was allegedly being kidnapped after she took action after seeing a note from the woman asking for help.

This past Sunday evening, a KFC worker in Memphis quickly responded after she read a note that was left from a woman customer that read “begging for help.” NBC News reports the incident took place at a KFC located at 6262 Winchester Road.

Police got to the restaurant a little after 5 p.m., where they found the alleged victim and the man accused of being her kidnapper. The man was identified as 23-year-old Diego Glay. When police approached him, Glay took off running on foot. It didn’t take long for cops to get ahold of him and arrest him.

According to a news release, the woman traveled on a Greyhound bus from another state to meet Glay. However, the two ended up getting into a heated exchange and when the woman tried to leave several times, Glay allegedly wouldn’t allow her to.

The woman accuses Glay of abusing her by punching her in the face, stealing her phone and banning her from being anywhere else but in front of him for multiple days at a time, NBC News reports. He’s now being held on a $35,000 bond in Shelby County Jail. The charges made against him include kidnapping and evading arrest.
