Kodak Black is officially back home after dealing with back-to-back legal problems in Florida. The rapper managed to stay out of a jail cell by paying his bail for two completely separate cases in just over a week, getting released right after being booked both times.
His most recent release happened after he turned himself in to the police in Broward County for an active warrant. Back in February, authorities charged him with trying to flee from a traffic stop and resisting an officer without violence back after police tried to pull over his pink Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The judge set his bail at $3,500. Kodak paid the money immediately and was let go, but the court ordered him to stay completely away from guns, weapons, and ammunition while the case plays out.
His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, spoke out about the situation and questioned why the police took so long to take action. Cohen argued that because the state waited five months to file these charges, the case is incredibly weak. He also stated that the police are intentionally targeting the rapper by stretching out old investigations just to arrest him multiple times.
This quick bail payment comes right after Kodak had to shell out a much larger amount of money for an arrest in Central Florida just days earlier. In that case, state troopers arrested him on heavy drug trafficking charges after claiming they found MDMA inside a car. Kodak has already submitted a formal plea of not guilty and was let out of the Orange County Jail after putting up a massive $75,000 bond.
To stay out of jail while waiting for both of his upcoming trials, Kodak has to follow a strict list of rules set by the courts. On top of paying the thousands of dollars in bail money, he is required to avoid all illegal drugs, stop hanging out with certain people, stay away from the locations where the alleged incidents happened, and cannot be anywhere near firearms.
