Kodak Black is suing the Federal Bureau of prisons along with its director and Warden of Sandy Maximum security prison, TMZ reports.
In a new suit obtained by the publication, Kodak claims he is being beaten at the hands of guards and has been a victim of mental abuse and religious suppression since being transferred there in October 2019.
The docs say that the rapper was transferred due to an altercation with another inmate while he was incarcerated in a Miami prison, which caused an officer to be injured. The rapper claims that the Sandy Guards put a “gang beating” hit on him when he arrived in retaliation for the officer who was injured at the Miami prison. He says that guards even “flicked” his testicles during the beating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kodak says that he is routinely punished and mistreated for no reason. He claims that the guards even put him in a backless paper gown on a 4-point restraint for more than 6 hours with no use of the restroom. As a result, Kodak was forced to urinate and defecate on himself while the guards watched and made jokes. The medical records show that the abuse also left him with his mouth bleeding, lacerations, and vomiting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, Kodak says that this is not the only mistreatment he faces, as the Sandy guards are also accused of placing him on his knees execution-style in his underwear while soaking wet. He claims that this has caused him physical harm, emotional distress, and humiliation.
In the suit, Kodak says he is a practicing Hebrew Israelite, but he is constantly denied access to meet with a rabbi so that he can practice his religion. He claims that other inmates are granted access to clergy.
The rapper is suing to be moved to a lower-security prison, and he wants his damages and legal fees covered.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has yet to respond for a comment.
