Krispy Kreme Drops 13-Cent Deal for Friday the 13th

Chula Vista, USA - April 29, 2011: Red and green Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Sign as viewed from the sidewalk. The building exterior is made of stone with blue awnings for each store window. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have been in business serving doughnuts and coffee since 1937. Krispy Kreme Doughnut stores operate in 14 countries around the globe.

Fans of Krispy Kreme’s adored original glazed donuts can now get a dozen for just under a dollar, but we must warn you, this promotion is only good for one day.

The brand is expecting a huge turnout on Friday, July 14th, with customers sure to line up to score the breakfast comfort food. While Krispy Kreme is no stranger to a good bargain, this one has an especially special meaning. The iconic donut chain is celebrating its 86th year in business. Launched in 1937 by innovator Vernon Rudolph, the company has ballooned to over 350 locations in the United States alone.

“We love treating our fans and celebrating our birthday with them every year. It definitely has become a tradition,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer, stated in a press release.

While this sweet deal may be enticing, there is one catch: It’s only valid with the purchase of a regular prices dozen of donuts. Still, customers will receive 24 donuts and pay just a little over the price of one dozen. Anyone can take advantage of these nearly free extra donuts, no matter if you order at the location or online, using coupon code 86YEARS.

Krispy Kreme lover’s looking to treat their office or simply have the sugary pastries for their family’s breakfast shouldn’t waste a second on July 14th, considering that the chains may experience a glazed shortage. Those who plan on purchasing the 86 cents dozen are limited to four dozen donuts if bought in the drive-thru and only one dozen when placing the order online.
