Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Facing Years of Insecurity and Her Struggles with Self-Acceptance

Kylie Jenner is reflecting on the scrutiny she’s endured about her appearance since the age of nine, having been in the public eye since the 2007 premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Over the years, she has been accused of having multiple surgeries.

Fans believe her new relationship with Timothy Chalamet has influenced her recent appearance.

“When you share so much, you open yourself up to more comments and more people’s opinions of your life. … It’s just years and years of not feeling like my face or looks are accepted. There’s nothing anyone could ever say now that would hurt me,” Jenner said in a recent New York Times interview.

Kylie claims she is “stripping down a little bit,” adding, “I don’t have this thick mane down to my butt; I don’t have lash extensions; I don’t have these long claws.”

As a teen, Jenner received criticism for her enhanced lips. At first, she claimed makeup created the look but later admitted to getting lip injections.

“I have temporary lip fillers,” she said in a 2015 episode of KUWTK. “It’s just an insecurity of mine, and it’s what I wanted to do. I’m just not ready to talk to reporters about my lips yet because everyone always picks us apart.”

Jenner and her siblings have navigated through a range of controversies, facing accusations of cultural appropriation and copyright infringement suits. Additionally, there has been scrutiny over her private jet use and skepticism regarding her “exaggerated” claims of being a billionaire.
