Nipsey Hussle‘s legacy continues to live on as Los Angeles dedicates a metro station to the late rapper and activist.

Local leaders of South Los Angeles unveiled the new Hyde Park station and dedicated it to Hussle, saying “he caught the vision and he understood what the train would mean to this community.”

The station is located between the intersections of Crenshaw Boulevard with Slauson and 59th Street, which is near his Marathon Clothing Store.

Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom, was shot outside his Marathon Clothing store on 3420 W. Slauson Ave. The 33-year-old died later at the hospital.

On Saturday, L.A. city councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson spoke out about Hussle’s legacy and what it means to the community.

“After he caught the vision and he understood what the train would mean to this community and his neighborhood and businesses like his, he got very involved in making sure that this train worked on behalf of our people and helped us express and live out our possibilities and our hopes and our dreams,” said Harris-Dawson.

“From Slauson and all the way to Vernon, you will see world-class pieces of art celebrating the history and the legacy of African American people. Everybody who comes to L.A. and rides the train out of the airport is gonna see it. Is that all right?”

The station is just one of the eight that were added to the K line, part of the two billion projects for Crenshaw and LAX.

Hussle’s legacy has had a pretty busy week. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the late rapper would be receiving a Hollywood star of Fame.
