Los Angeles Lakers forward Jordan Hill turned himself in to authorities in Houston on a felony domestic violence charge.
The charge stems from an incident in February, when Hill was playing for the Houston Rockets. His former girlfriend says the two got into an argument that left her with bruises on her arms and legs, and that Hill tried to choke her. She filed charges on April 30.
Hill, 24, spent a few hours in jail before posting a $5,000 bond. A judge issued a protective order requiring him to stay away from her. He is due back in court June 8.
Hill was traded from Houston to the Lakers in March and has been part of the team’s playoff run. He has not commented publicly on the charge.
