La La Anthony has opened up about marriage and potential future romantic relationships.
The “Power” star recently sat down with The Breakfast Club morning show and spoke about future relationships. The conversation began with Charlamagne asking Lala if she was focused on having a love life.
“You know when it gets cold outside then I care about a love life,” she says. “Then I’m like, hold up, all this work ain’t sh*t because it’s cold outside.”
The conversation then switches after Angela Yee mentions Lala catching the bouquet at Naturi Naughton’s wedding. DJ Envy chimes in and says, “oh, you’re next,” which Lala quickly denies.
“I’ll never get married again,” she revealed.
Charlamagne halts the conversation and asks her why she made the decision to never marry again.
“It’s one of those things in life that I feel like I can check if off like okay I did that,” Lala says. “Maybe people wanna say they want to experience it and I’ve experienced it. I know the good and the bad that happened to me and it’s not something I want to experience again. I feel like I can have an incredible relationship with someone and not be married.”
The actress also revealed what kind of person she’s interested in dating in the future.
“I don’t have this checklist of what I prefer,” she added. “I think I’m a really cool, down-to-earth person. I just want somebody I can vibe with.” DJ Envy later asks if she would date another athlete and she responded, “I think I would stay away from the NBA.”
Lala and Carmelo Anthony ended their 11-year marriage in 2021. The former couple tied the knot in 2010 and welcomed their son, Kiyan, in 2007.
