Lamar Odom is facing a fresh set of legal issues in Las Vegas. The 46-year-old former NBA champion was reportedly arrested on Saturday and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on several charges, including driving under the influence.
TMZ was the first to report the news, and court records from Clark County confirm that Odom is facing three specific counts. Along with a first-offense DUI charge, Odom is accused of driving more than 41 mph over the posted speed limit and failing to stay in his lane.
All three charges are being treated as misdemeanors. Records show that as of Saturday afternoon, Odom was being held on a $4,000 bail.
While the former Los Angeles Laker has been open about his past struggles with substance abuse and his journey toward recovery over the last several years, this latest incident marks a significant setback.
It’s unclear exactly where in Las Vegas the arrest took place or what led officers to pull him over, but the speeding allegation alone suggests a dangerous situation on the road.
Odom is currently scheduled to face a judge for his initial court appearance on March 17.
