The Ball family is officially expanding. NBA standout LaMelo Ball and his partner, Ana Montana, have confirmed the arrival of their first child, a son named LaOne.
While the couple actually welcomed their baby boy back in January, they held the news close until now, pairing the announcement with the launch of a significant new charitable mission.
For the 24-year-old Hornets guard and Montana, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, the experience has fundamentally shifted their priorities.
“Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way,” the couple said. “Family has always meant everything to us, but becoming parents has given us an entirely new perspective on love, purpose, legacy and what truly matters most.”
The couple expressed deep gratitude, describing their son as a “special blessing” from God. However, the joy of parenthood also highlighted the difficult hurdles many women face when trying to conceive.
To address this, the pair is introducing I Am Fertility, a nonprofit platform dedicated to women navigating the often lonely road of IVF and reproductive health. The organization aims to provide the emotional and educational resources that Montana felt were lacking during her own process.
“At one point during my IVF journey, I felt overwhelmed, emotional, isolated and unsure where to turn,” Montana admitted. “That experience inspired me to create I Am Fertility as a safe space where women don’t have to face this journey alone.”
The initiative goes beyond just offering a community; it provides financial assistance through The HOPE Grant. This fund is designed to help cover the steep costs of fertility treatments. For its first round, the nonprofit will award two separate $5,000 grants.
“This is more than awareness, it’s about creating real support, real access and a community where women feel seen, understood and hopeful,” Montana explained.
Applications for the financial assistance will officially open on Mother’s Day and run through June 1.
