According to the NY Daily News, a Los Angeles police officer is being sued by the family of a deceased woman for allegedly fondling her breasts. The despicable incident was reportedly caught on the officer’s body cam.

Officer David Rojas, 27, is reportedly accused of invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, mishandling of human remains, and other allegations, according to a lawsuit filed by the family of Elizabeth Baggett this Tuesday in Los Angeles.

The accused officer and his partner discovered Baggett’s body after responding to a 911 call on Oct. 20 concerning a dead body possibly on the scene. The 34-year-old reportedly died from an overdose.

Rojas allegedly turned off his body camera and began fondling Baggett’s breasts, “feeling her nipples, without limitation,” as soon as he was alone with her unresponsive body, according to the lawsuit. He was still visually recorded, seemingly unknowingly, since the officer-issued bodycams continue to record for up to two minutes after they are powered off.

During a press conference with family attorney, Gloria Allred, on Tuesday, Baggett’s mother, Janet Baggett shamed the officer for his heinous actions.

“I am infuriated that this man had so little respect for another human being, our Elizabeth,” she said.

“I personally wake in sweats from the nightmares that haunt me about the events of Elizabeth’s death.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Allred added during the press conference that the family was disgusted and disturbed after learning “that the video of her alleged sexual molestation has been viewed by others.” Attorney Allred said the family now lives in constant fear that the video will resurface in the future.

Baggett’s 15-year-old son, Preston Sertich, also had emotional words for the LAPD and addressed Rojas directly on his actions.

“After losing my mom and processing what you did to her in her time of need, I can’t sleep,” he said. “All I can think is ‘Why?‘”

Rojas was previously charged last December with one felony count of having sexual contact with human remains without authority. Last year, He was released on bail and pleaded not guilty in January.
