The Las Vegas Aces are on a historic roll, not just with their gameplay but also with their fans. As they aim to become the second WNBA franchise to clinch three consecutive championships, the team announced they’ve sold out all their regular-season home games this year – a first in WNBA history.
The reigning champions have already played eight home games this season, with 12 more to go. Two of these games, July 2nd against the Indiana Fever and September 3rd against the Chicago Sky, will take place at the larger T-Mobile Arena, which seats 18,000 fans compared to the 12,000-capacity Michelob Ultra Arena. The September 3rd game against the Sky was the last with tickets available until they were snapped up on Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
This incredible feat follows another milestone from March when the Aces became the first WNBA team to sell all their season tickets. Last year, the Aces led the league in attendance for the first time, averaging 9,551 fans per game. They also set the highest single-game attendance with 17,406 fans at their regular-season finale against the Phoenix Mercury at T-Mobile Arena.
Recently, the Aces set a new attendance record for the Michelob Ultra Arena with 10,424 fans watching their WNBA Finals rematch against the New York Liberty.
