Former East Mississippi Community College running back and “Last Chance U” star, Isaiah Wright, will have his day in court as early as next week.

According to Bleacher Report, Wright was arrested back in September in connection with the fatal July stabbing of 18-year-old Caleb Radford. Wright was among three other suspects that were arrested in the incident, just two years after appearing on the first season of the Netflix series, “Last Chance U,” which followed the EMCC football program. The show focused on players who had been removed from Division I teams because of academic or disciplinary issues, using their last chance to prove themselves to the top-tier division programs.

Wright appeared on the second season of the series, as well, which showcased his decline in production after 483 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season. In his 2016 season, Wright rushed for only 118 yards and two touchdowns, before committing to West Virginia in 2017. However, in August, Wright left the team and one month later, the baller was arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the fatal July stabbing.

He and two others are currently sitting in a Tennessee jail awaiting their fate, as Wright’s case will be heard before a Circuit Court Grand Jury on January 12. A jury will then decide if there is enough evidence to indict, TMZ reports.

According to Bleacher Reports, at the time of Wright’s production success, he was the No. 2 running back among JUCO transfers from the state of Alabama.
