LeBron and Savannah James Give Vogue a Tour of Their Home, From a Basquiat to a One of Two Maybach

The couple showed off championship trophies, a Cartier Crash watch, a dessert row LeBron raids daily and the couch where the family's biggest conversations happen.

LeBron and Savannah James let Vogue inside the LeBron James home for the magazine’s Objects of Affection series, walking cameras through the pieces that mean the most to their family, from a Basquiat painting to a custom Mercedes Maybach that exists in only two versions.

Video:

The tour opened with a piece of equipment the couple does not agree on. LeBron’s hyperbaric chamber has been with the family since his second stint in Cleveland, and he loves it. Savannah loves the benefits but not the size. “This little tiny space, it gives coffin to me,” she said. When she does get in, she brings her iPad and phone to watch her shows and treats it like a spa moment. LeBron goes straight to sleep and wants no contact with anyone until he gets out.

Next came the trophies. LeBron pointed to his first championship in 2012 with the Miami Heat, a title he chased after taking heavy media criticism for leaving Cleveland. He said he knew his purpose in Miami, and that coming up short in year one made the win in year two even harder to earn. He also joked that the team lost the first season because Savannah and the family had not moved down yet. The second trophy was the 2020 title he brought to Los Angeles inside the NBA bubble during the pandemic, which he said brought happiness to a lot of homes during a hard time.

Fashion got its moment in the LeBron James home too. LeBron called his Louis Vuitton denim jacket an all purpose piece he can throw over sweats or trousers, adding that most people would never know the label unless they were really paying attention. Savannah called it a quiet luxury moment. Her pick was louder: a pair of Ugg and Palace collab slides covered in patches that she says have been around the world three times. They are her travel shoes because she can kick them off for a TSA pat down or to sleep on the plane. She has worn the backs completely down, so LeBron used the camera to ask Ugg and Palace to send her two new pairs.

Savannah also revealed the story behind the Cartier Crash watch she gave LeBron. The skeleton face lets you see the inner workings of the watch, and she said it took her about six months to track it down. She found it in the summer and had to sit on it until their anniversary in September. The funny part is that neither of them counts receiving gifts among their top love languages, but LeBron made it clear he appreciated this one.

The cold plunge brought out the most honest banter of the video. LeBron swears by it for recovery and said he has been trying to get Savannah in it for 20 years. She calls herself cold blooded and said she can give it three minutes and not a second more. Bronny and Bryce will both get in, though Savannah said Bryce leans closer to her side.

Then came dessert row, which Savannah called LeBron’s favorite part of the house and the guests’ favorite part too. The spread from Chef Dena included funfetti mini cakes, a chocolate cake LeBron said requires a Willy Wonka golden ticket, cream filled bomboloni, pecan covered brownies and a s’mores brownie. LeBron admitted he did not know half the names and said one item looked “[expletive] nasty.” Savannah then exposed him as the biggest offender in the house, saying he eats chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake and ice cream every single day. LeBron said he does not eat candy at all but has “one tooth” that is super sweet on cookies and ice cream.

The most valuable piece shown in the LeBron James home was the Basquiat painting “Minor Success.” LeBron explained it is one of the early works where Basquiat started using his signature crown, a symbol that resonated with the whole family. The repeated A’s are a nod to Hank Aaron, the Atlanta Braves legend Basquiat admired, and other marks represent the cars rushing through New York City. LeBron said the family is humbled to live with a piece by an artist of that stature every day.

Not everything special in the house is expensive. The couple’s couch is one of the oldest things they own, and Savannah joked that the only thing older is LeBron. They have dinner on it, watch movies on it and have never once thought about replacing it. Savannah said some of the biggest family conversations happened there, including Bronny’s college decision. LeBron said talks about the future of their kids do not get any better than that.

Savannah got emotional over a bracelet LeBron gave her for her birthday. It carries the heartbeats of all three children with LeBron’s initial on the clasp, and she said she cried when she received it. She wears it when she travels as a reminder that the kids are always with her. She said Bronny taught her unconditional love, Bryce showed her she could love even more, and Zhuri taught her patience and gave her a new sense of purpose in how she wants to show up.

The tour ended with LeBron’s Mercedes Maybach LeBron James edition, one of only two ever made. The family keeps one, and the other is being auctioned with all proceeds going to the LeBron James Family Foundation to support the families and kids in its programs. LeBron’s favorite detail is the engraving of October 6, 2004, June 14, 2007, and October 22, 2014, the birthdays of Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri, so the kids are always riding with them. Savannah’s favorite feature is simpler: the reclining back seat, where she can kick her feet up and take her shoes off.

After a shoot that started at 8 a.m., the couple closed by telling the Vogue crew they were tired and it was time to go.
