LeBron James’ mother, Gloria James, was arrested in Miami Beach early Thursday morning after police say she got into an altercation with a valet.
According to police, it happened outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel, home of LIV nightclub, shortly before 5 a.m. A parking attendant, Sorel, told police Gloria became angry because her car was taking too long to arrive, and that she struck him. Police say several witnesses backed up his account.
Police also said Gloria and the driver of her car were initially uncooperative, and a Miami Beach press release described her as apparently intoxicated.
She was processed at the Miami Beach Police Department, charged with simple battery and disorderly intoxication, and released with a promise to appear in court.
Neither Gloria nor LeBron has commented. It feels like part of the story is missing, so we’ll wait to hear her side.
