Let’s begin by defining the term “dry snitching.” #UrbanDictionary defines this phrase as “indirectly telling secrets or offenses to a person of authority or any person meant to be kept away from a secret or offense, sometimes inadvertently.”
There are often times where you have been a dry snitch without realizing what you said. If you are confused on whether or not you have dry snitched, then here are a few scenarios to determine if you’ve ever been a dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If your homeboy has ever called you from jail and you brought up the time he shot a gun for fun in your neighborhood, congratulations. You’re a dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If your best friend went on a date with a new guy after breaking up with her boyfriend and you gossiped to her ex about it, boom — dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you’ve ever got caught sneaking out and told your parents it wasn’t as bad as the time your sibling secretly went out with their friends, you, too, meet the criteria of a dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you’ve ever said something like “I didn’t know lunch was 2 hours” in front of your boss after your coworker came in late from their break, you’re also a dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you thought your homeboy was cheating on his girl so the next time you saw her you casually said something like, “I saw him looking cozy the other night with some girl,” you my friend, are a dry snitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Although you don’t intend on dry snitching, it does happen here and there. It often slips out when you’re trying to be petty.
Now, we all like gossip occasionally, but dry snitching is downright compromising, betraying, and freaking annoying. Don’t be “that person” that no one wants to be around or tell their secrets to.
Reality is that the ones most likely to hate snitches are usually the ones most worthy of snitching on. The solution is tactful snitching and the end of snitch-shame. Its all about who you snitch to, how you snitch, and why you snitch that defines your true honor. Fuck what petty crack dealers and petty criminals say. If someones gramma is robbed, and i see it, i should have a certified thug i can go tell that will see it handled. Fuck the police no one should ever snitch to them. But if you hurt innocents, rape women and kids, rob local respected businesses, you were handled and snitching is the honorable thing to do. Snitching doesn’t even refer to cheating and all that nonsense, its sociopathic criminals scaring and intimidating the real people into being too terrified to stop them. By not snitching correctly you are aiding in the destruction of your own people and your own community. Do the math you aint right here.
