Lil Nas X won’t be strutting through the streets of L.A. again anytime soon.
The “Old Town Road” star is still behind bars following his headline-making arrest early Thursday morning and now, it’s confirmed he won’t be released until Monday at the earliest.
According to authorities, the rapper was arrested for suspicion of battery on a peace officer, and because of the nature of the charge, he’s not eligible for a quick release. Unlike most misdemeanors, where offenders can be cited and sent home, this case requires an automatic court appearance due to its seriousness.
He is now required to go before a judge to have his bail set, which won’t happen until Monday. Officials also confirmed there’s a backlog of cases, meaning the superstar may have to wait even longer.
Lil Nas X was arrested after a chaotic early morning incident where he was seen wandering through the streets nearly nude in white underwear and cowboy boots. He reportedly stripped fully naked and lunged at responding officers before being taken to the hospital over concerns of a potential drug overdose.
