Lil Nas X is reportedly taking steps to get his life back on track.
According to TMZ, on Monday, his legal team appeared on his behalf in a Los Angeles courtroom, where a judge agreed to the 28-year-old rapper seeking treatment at a private facility out of state.
Though Lil Nas X remains free on $75,000 bail, his legal troubles are far from over. He is currently facing three felony charges for allegedly assaulting police officers and one felony count of resisting arrest during his August 21st encounter with officers. The rapper has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 18th.
His lawyer emphasized the importance of putting his health first and promised the court that Lil Nas X is committed to making a comeback.
Meanwhile, his father, Robert Stafford, has been vocal about the damaging toll fame has taken on his son’s mental health. Fans were expecting his upcoming album “Dreamboy” to drop this year, but the release has been delayed since spring.
Following his release from jail, Lil Nas X spoke directly to fans, highlighting the ordeal and promising that he would be okay.
