It was previously  reported that Lil Wayne was suing Birdman for $8 million in owed advance money for his Carter V album but there appears to be more going on. 51 million dollars more.

Weezy says that he should be able to leave Cash Money. But that’s not all. Wayne has asked a judge to declare him the joint copyright holder of all of Young Money Entertainment recordings. Yesterday (Jan. 27) it was reported that Lil Wayne has plans to take Nicki Minaj and Drake with him when he leaves.

After tweeting his displeasure with CMR, Weezy seems to have taken it to the next level. He gave them an ultimatum, in writing: Either release Tha Carter V, or the rapper will sue Cash Money to get out of his contract. Baby has not publicly commented on the situations, but he reportedly is not budging and will not let Wayne out of his deal.

Legal documents regarding the lawsuit have surfaced. Here’s Wayne’s formal complaint via the Fader.

Here’s where it gets a little tricky. If Birdman pays Wayne what he owes, Wayne will actually have to stay on Cash Money, since it doesn’t void their contract. Here’s how it works: Birdman owed Wayne an $8M advance to record The Carter V and $2M once the album is completed (which it is). Wayne was suing Birdman for a breach of contract since he did not pay the money and because he breached the contract he was going to sue his way out of his Cash Money contract ($51M). Now, if Birdman coughs up the $10M he reportedly owes, it will void the breach of contract claim. The qustion is, will he pay it?
