Yesterday Lil Wayne’s Miami mansion, which had been placed up for sale, was raided by cops and items seized. We find out now that the property seized was to satisfy a $2 million judgment Wayne owes to a private jet company.
Las month, Signature Group sued Wayne for $2 million over missed payments. At the time they asked the Miami-Dade County Judge to allow them a “break order,” an order that gives them permission to enter Wayne’s home with or without his permission to seize assets and rectify the debt. The judge initially ordered against it because Signature Group couldn’t prove there were valuable assets on the premises. She reversed her ruling and signed a new order on October 30 based on an affidavit from a real estate agent who says they were recently in the home and could confirm there were valuable assets inside.
Expensive artwork and plaques are among the items taken. Wayne had at least $30 million worth of art in his home, and of course gold and platinum plaques from past work. Cops brought along an appraiser who helped them determine which items to seize. It is unknown whether Wayne was in the home.
Hopefully this is the end of his legal battle with the jet company.
