Lil Woody and Young Thug

Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland says he is happy that Young Thug and the rest of those in the YSL case get to come home.

Lil Woody, who was the prosecutor’s star witness, became a viral sensation of sorts during the trial. He was granted immunity in exchange for his testimony and frequently stated he could not recall key details in the case.  Woody, at some points, claimed he pinned crimes on Thug in order to help him get out of his own legal problems.  Despite being labeled a snitch, Woody says he is not worried about retaliation from Thug or any other members of YSL that have been released.

“I’m genuinely happy for all of them to come home. I don’t have no fear. They’re not a threat to me. And I’m not a threat to them,” he explained during a recent episode of “The Danza Project” podcast.

Woody himself has been accused of being involved in shootings. With a lengthy criminal past of his own, the part-time rapper says he doesn’t want to see anyone incarcerated. He blames his own past on bad influences.

“I don’t want nobody in jail. Like I said, and I’m going to say it again. I went through a dark phase in my life where I let the demons get the best of me,” he shared. “People say, ‘oh, he a killer.’ No, bro. When them demons get to you, n***as can say whatever they want. I know y’all ain’t been in my position. I ain’t got no point to prove to y’all,” Woody stated.

On Thursday, Thug was released from jail after two years. He accepted a plea deal that allowed him to serve 15 years of probation and time served. However, if he does not adhere to strict conditions, he could face 20 years in prison.
