Next week, some Republican senators are set to object to the Electoral College certification to block President-elect Joe Biden‘s win. However, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is one of many unwilling to object as he “didn’t seem convinced it was the right move.”
On Sunday, Graham lectured his colleagues about the decision he considers “more of a political dodge than an effective remedy.”
As we all know, there has been no evidence of voter fraud, so the claims seem a bit inappropriate to make. According to Yahoo News, evidence of voter fraud “as well as proof that state and federal courts should have acted on election fraud claims and that those actions could have changed the outcome of the presidential election in certain states” need to be provided for him to be convinced to object Joe Bidens win.
Graham does, however, look forward to hearing his colleague’s arguments. He said he will “listen closely,” but “they have a high bar to clear.”
According to Politico, just about a quarter of Republican senators are scheduled to challenge Biden-Harris on Jan 6.
This is just a “stunning development that demonstrates just how far some in the GOP will go to align themselves with President Donald Trump’s flailing claims that the election was stolen from him,” Politico wrote.
