Last week, during an episode of Fox Soul’s “Cocktails with Queens,” LisaRaye McCoy called out her estranged sister, Da Brat, after the rapper surprised her with an on-air birthday wish.
Apparently, the sisters had been estranged for months, to the point where LisaRaye found out that Da Brat was in a relationship with Jesseca Dupart from the blogs.
“I just did not want to hear it from the blogs,” McCoy said. “I didn’t get to hear it from you. I had to see it from someplace else, so I’m hurt. That’s what I am.”
The other co-host from the show tried to calm the situation, but LisaRaye wasn’t happy about the surprise at all. “I don’t care what the f–k y’all saying. At all. Y’all don’t know s–t. At all. She do. You do. You do,” she said.
But on Tuesday, more than a week after the on-air blow-up, LisaRaye took the time to open up about her frustration and apologize to her co-hosts.
“I completely was in my emotions,” LisaRaye said. “I meant what I said. I know exactly how I feel.”
“It’s bigger than just, ‘Oh, you moved on with your life,’ because she’s been grown for a very long time,” the actress continued. “I was so in a place of, ‘How do I keep this together, and still stay true to how I feel,’ til it took me for a loop because I know that she knows my heart. and I wear my heart on my sleeve, so it was like, ‘Yeah, I ain’t gon be able to fake it.”
She then went on to apologize, saying, “But what I want to apologize to you all for is that, that was not the kind of show that we do, and that is not how we interact with each other.”
“I don’t ever want that to happen again,” LisaRaye said, as her co-hosts sympathized with her situation.
