LisaRaye McCoy got emotional talking about Meghan Markle’s struggles with the royal family on Fox Soul’s Cocktails with Queens, revealing that she comes from a place of understanding.
“Part of your life becomes tunnel vision,” LisaRaye said on the show. “You leave all of what you know. You leave all your friends. You leave all your family behind for this whole new world that you want to be accepted in and that you have turned your back on all that you know to become this. And when you’re not accepted, that’s a big ass blow.”
“What I love is that he loves her enough to say let’s go,” she added.
LisaRaye says that her experience was not of the same magnitude that Meghan experienced but that she identified with what she had been through. She noted that the healing process is only beginning for Meghan by standing in her truth.
She also notes that Megahn is most likely being compared to Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton, but we don’t know how Kate feels either. She has immersed herself into her royal duties, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s happy either.
“I so know that they’re comparing Meghan to Kate because she’s walking the walk. We don’t know how miserable she is either,” she said of Kate. “She might not have the guts to come out and be forthcoming like Meghan is. But my hat’s off to her. Bravo. I support her, and I am absolutely glad that she is telling her truth.”
