Love and Hip Hop Atlanta introduced viewers to Karen King, known as KK, on its season premiere this week. The episode presented KK and her sons as a family with a tough reputation in Atlanta, and it touched on her past. In 2012, KK was featured as a Fugitive of the Week in Atlanta, according to local reports from that time. She and her sons were reportedly wanted on charges that included kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
According to those reports, authorities alleged that KK had her sons assault her former boyfriend, Lyndon, at a home in Georgia. He was then reportedly placed in the trunk of a car and driven to an empty house in Alabama. Police reportedly found him after pulling the vehicle over and becoming suspicious of the driver. Reports said he had serious injuries, including fractures to his face and ribs. These were allegations made by authorities at the time, and the show did not present them as proven.
The day after the premiere aired, Lyndon shared his own account on Facebook. In one post he wrote that the family were “imposters, pretending to be something they’re not,” and he described the way KK raised her sons in harsh terms. He also directed comments at cast member Scrapp, who was featured heavily in the episode, and referenced the 2009 death of Atlanta rapper Dolla, who was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The man charged in that shooting was acquitted in 2010 after claiming self defense.
These are one person’s claims, posted on social media, and they have not been verified. At the time of writing, no public response from KK to his posts had been reported. We will keep you posted if that changes.
