Lupe Fiasco is the target of a new lawsuit that has him answering some serious allegations. TMZ reported that Inita, the estranged wife of convicted drug dealer Charles Patton, is suing the Chicago rapper.
Patton is serving a 44 year sentence for running a heroin operation, and has been described in reports as a partner in Lupe’s record label. According to the lawsuit, as reported by TMZ, Inita claims Lupe and Patton conspired to move more than $9 million through several bank accounts so she could not get to the money in their divorce. She says she uncovered a trail of money that went through the rapper.
Lupe’s side flatly denies it. His lawyer says the claims are baseless and will be proven false at trial, adding, “There are no secret accounts and no illicit instructions.”
The allegations are unproven and Lupe has not been found to have done anything wrong. We will keep you posted as the case plays out.
