ASAP Rocky’s tour look hit the timeline, and Boosie turned it into a full-blown sermon about where he thinks culture is headed. The viral photo, which social media users claimed showed Rocky wearing a thong while performing on his “Don’t Be Dumb World Tour,” quickly became bigger than one outfit after Boosie jumped in with his own reaction. Rocky’s tour was announced by Live Nation in January and launched in May 2026.
“THIS GOTTA BE AI!!” Boosie wrote. “I KNOW THIS N***A AINT GOT A THONG ON. THIS GOTTA BE AI!! IF NOT WHO JUST SAID THEY GO START WEARING THONGS? ME, I TOLD YALLSMH I FEEL SORRY FOR THE LIL BOYS N THIS WORLD WHEN R WE GOING TO SAY THIS IS ENOUGH!! CAN A WOMAN WITH A VOICE SPEAK UP DAM THIS IS THE WORST GENERATION EVER!! THIS IS JUST SICK!! RAPPERS WEARING THONGS IS ABOUT TO BE A FASHION!! IM GOING BACK TO SLEEP. THIS WORLD COMING TO A END.”
However, the bigger story is the pattern. Boosie has built a reputation for loudly challenging anything he views as too far outside traditional masculinity, and this Rocky moment fits right into that lane. The image itself has been debated online, with some questioning whether the garment was actually a thong or part of Rocky’s pants. Still, Boosie did not wait for clarity before using the photo as a warning sign.
This also lands against years of Boosie’s public comments about LGBTQIA people. In 2020, he faced backlash after making transphobic remarks about Zaya Wade, and Mike Tyson later questioned him on “Hotboxin’” about why he felt the need to comment on someone else’s life.
Then in 2021, Boosie targeted Lil Nas X with homophobic language after Lil Nas joked about a collaboration, prompting widespread criticism.
So while Rocky’s photo may be the viral spark, Boosie’s reaction is really part of a longer conversation about fashion, queerness, masculinity, and who gets to define what a rapper is “supposed” to look like.
