A Miami Beach shooting on Collins Avenue has led to an attempted murder type charge against a New York man, according to police.
According to Local 10 News, Tremain, 23, of Brooklyn, was arrested after investigators staked out the hotel where the incident began. Police say he and another man met two dancers at Scarlett’s Cabaret in Hallandale Beach on Wednesday morning. The women reportedly told investigators they were offered $1,000 to go back to the Grand Beach Hotel for what they understood to be a private show.
Police say that once the group arrived, the men demanded sex. The women told investigators they got their cars from the hotel valet and left.
According to the arrest report, Tremain then got into a white BMW SUV and followed one of the women, who was driving a white Mercedes. Police say he caught up with her and fired several shots from a black firearm as she sped away. The woman reportedly suffered cuts believed to be from shattered glass and was treated and released at the scene.
After he was taken into custody, Tremain told investigators that he did invite the women to his room, but that they were in a hurry to leave and he soon noticed $1,000 was missing. He also claimed it was his friend who fired from the car, saying someone in one of the women’s cars shot at them first. Those claims were reported by Local 10 and have not been confirmed.
Tremain is facing a charge of attempted felony murder. The case is still developing.
