Usually, most couples divorce over infidelity, financial difficulties, or falling out of love, but an Indian man has called it quits with his wife over noodles.

According to The New Indian Express, one Indian man said “enough is enough” when he reportedly divorced his wife since all she cooked for him was instant noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The presiding judge of the case told the outlet, “The husband said his wife did not know how to prepare any food other than Maggi noodles. It was noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He complained that his wife went to the provision store and brought only instant noodles.”

According to the outlet, The judge referred to the case as the “Maggi case.”

Couples seeking a divorce in India must wait a year to see if they can work things out.

While a couple’s reunion is preferred, Judge ML Raghunath told the Express that just 20 to 30 of the 800 to 900 divorce cases that aim to reconcile succeed.

“Divorce cases are increasing drastically over the years. Couples have to stay together for at least a year before seeking a divorce. If there was no such law, there would be divorce petitions filed directly from wedding halls,” Raghunath explained.
