A man shocked airport officials when he was discovered stowed away in the landing gear of an American Airlines flight from Guatemala to Miami on Saturday.
Video of the harrowing discovery was posted on Instagram by crew members who found the man shortly after American Airlines flight 1182 landed on Saturday morning. The stowaway was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
American Airlines confirmed in a statement the flight “was met by law enforcement due to a security issue. We are working with law enforcement in their investigation.”
The employee who recorded the video declined to speak on the record with the media for fear that he would lose his job.
