A Detroit man implanted a chip inside of his hand that will allow him to unlock his Tesla car.

Earlier this month, Brandon Dalaly posted a video to his Instagram account showing the process of implanting a Tesla key chip into his hand. The footage shows Dalaly getting the implant and testing it on his Tesla to see if it works.

“Chip implant number 2 installed,” he wrote. “Don’t watch video unless you like seeing big rods shoved in to hands…And no, not like that. Right now, this is my Tesla key, and in the future will be credit card for tap to pay.”

The implant allows Dalaly to tap on the door to unlock and start his Tesla.

“It’s a perfect back up. You can never forget it. It never breaks, something that won’t fail you,” he said.

If you’re wondering if Dalaly received consultation from a doctor, the answer is no.

“The chips themselves are around $200 to $300 and the install is only about $100 because you can go to a local piercing shop who will agree to do the installation,” Dalaly said. “All the programming and coding putting the apps on the chips. That’s all done by me.”

Prior to his latest implantation, Dalaly already had a digital key implanted into his left hand. The first chip allowed Dalaly access into his home and much more.

“So after that was inserted and the swelling went down, I’m able to open up the front and back door of my house,” he added. “I can walk up to people and have them tap their phone to my hand and instantly transfer my contact information in my portfolio, my Covid vaccine card.”

In the future, Dalaly plans on creating another chip that can instantly read his body.

“It would be inserted near the breast and then you can tap your phone to your chest and instantly get temperature readings,” he said.
