A Russian man has filed a lawsuit against his ex girlfriend, asking a court to make her repay money he spent on a trip they took before the relationship ended.
According to reports at the time, Nikolai, 38, sued his ex, Nina, for what the filing called “illegal enrichment.” He says that after four years together, she asked him to pay for a friendly trip to Siberia and then broke up with him shortly afterward. He wanted about $680 back, and yes, he kept track.
Nina remembers it differently. She says she ended things because she expected a proposal on the trip, and when it never came, she decided to move on.
The case was dismissed by a Siberian court. Nikolai has not said whether he will pursue it elsewhere. He also said he never planned to collect the money even if he won. “I wasn’t going to take her money,” he said.
Both sides have given their account, and the court did not rule in his favor.
