April just got a whole lot louder because Manny Pacquiao is stepping back into the spotlight.
The 47-year-old boxing legend is scheduled to face Ruslan Provodnikov in a 10-round welterweight exhibition on April 18 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, according to Yahoo Sports. For longtime fans, this is more than an exhibition. It is a reminder that some fighters never lose that spark.
Pacquiao made it clear that this return means something personal.
“I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight,” he said in a statement. “The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me. Returning to Las Vegas means so much to me… I’m coming back to give them a great fight — and I’m ready.”
With a 62-8-3 record and 39 knockouts, Pacquiao already tested his comeback power in July 2025 when he fought WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios to a draw after four years away. He did not look like a retired fighter that night, but a true professional who remains in shape despite his break from the ring.
Provodnikov, nicknamed “The Russian Rocky,” brings his own resume. The former WBO super lightweight champion holds a 25-5 record with 18 knockouts.
