A Maryland dentist is now facing serious charges after multiple patients came forward with disturbing accusations, and police say the story may not be over.
According to ABC 7 News, Montgomery County investigators arrested 35-year-old Dr. Ermias Semaie following a report made on March 2. A woman told police that her dentist sexually assaulted her on two separate visits. Both incidents allegedly happened inside the exam room while no hygienist was present, according to investigators.
Detectives say they were able to corroborate the victim’s account, which led to an arrest warrant. Semaie now faces multiple counts of fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault. He was taken into custody on March 19 and later released on bond. However, this is not the first time his name has come up.
Back in 2018, another victim reported Semaie to the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners. His license was temporarily suspended, and he was placed on probation. No criminal charges were filed in that earlier case.
Now, with new allegations on the table, investigators believe there could be more victims who have not yet spoken out. Police are urging anyone with information or similar experiences to come forward as the case develops.
