Police in Barnstable, Massachusetts say a 20 year old woman named Emma was arrested after a road rage incident left a two year old boy with a cut and a bloody nose, according to CBS Boston.
Here is what police and the boy’s mother told investigators. On a Wednesday shortly before 1 p.m. on Route 28 in Centerville, the mother says a driver in a white Jeep Liberty followed her car closely, laid on the horn and yelled at her. She told police the driver then threw a cup of iced coffee into her car, and it hit her son, who was asleep in his car seat.
An officer who responded reported finding coffee splattered across the back seat and the cup on the floor. The mother later identified Emma at the police station.
Emma is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She was arraigned Thursday in Barnstable District Court and released on $540 bail. She is due back in court on November 4. No statement from Emma was included in the reports, and the charges are allegations at this stage.
The story is a reminder that road rage can turn dangerous fast, especially when kids are in the car.
