Another arrest has been made in the Florida spa investigation that led to charges against Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
According to jail records obtained by CBS12, Mingbi, a 58 year old spa worker, was arrested and charged with offenses tied to prostitution. Investigators said they began watching her in February after detectives noticed a cash deposit even though she had no reported income in Florida.
Police then obtained a search warrant for her safety deposit box, where they reportedly found more than $43,000 in cash. Records show she was charged with living off the earnings of prostitution, along with eight counts of offering to commit or engage in prostitution. Charges are allegations, and she has not been convicted.
Reports say the arrest came about a week after another spa employee, Lei, 43, was arrested on eight counts of offering to commit prostitution. Police have said both women worked at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, the business at the center of the investigation.
Mingbi has since been released on a $5,000 bond, and a judge ordered her to turn over her passport and stay out of the spa industry while the case moves forward. Kraft was charged earlier this year with soliciting prostitution. He has denied any illegal activity, and his legal team is still fighting to keep police surveillance video from being made public.
We will keep you posted as the case develops.
