The newly-established Global Mixed Gender Basketball (GMGB) League is definitely going to be the next best thing in sports.
If you’re not familiar with GMGB, it’s an organization that shoots to make the sports realm equal for women.
The president of GMGB, Master P, announced his latest signee, Lisa Leslie. The former WNBA star has been signed on as head coach for his team, The New Orleans Gators.
In a recent interview, the New Orleans Rapper talked about why he chose Lisa Leslie.
“I had a chance to experience her hard work and competitiveness first-hand,” Miller said. “I played her during the summer of my pro career; she’s smart, she knows basketball and she’s a beast on the court. That’s the kind of spirit we need in our Gator’s organization.”
In a recent statement with Essence, Lisa Leslie talked about how excited she is to take on a new position and her love for the league.
“I’m proud to be the coach, the face of this team and organization. I love that this league stands for equality and giving back. I can’t wait until September 23rd so the world can witness history as we put some of the best pro co-ed talent on the same court at one time in Las Vegas.”
