‘Mattress Mack’ Wins $3.46 million On Super Bowl Bet

I am 100% sure “Mattress Mack” woke up the happiest man in the world after last night’s Super Bowl.

Just last week, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale went viral for making a $3.46 million wager on the Buccaneers beating the Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl. As a result, mattress mack woke up $2.72 million richer after the Buccaneers beat the Chiefs 31-9.

Prior to the game, Mattress Mack said in a statement, “Tampa Bay is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and led by the greatest football player of all time in Tom Brady, so I’m betting big on the Bucs who have overcome tough matchups throughout the postseason.”

Since Texas has not legalized sports gambling, Mattress Mack flew to Colorado to place his seven-figure bet on the DraftKings sports betting app.

In most sportsbooks, the Buccaneers were three-point underdogs. McIngvale, however, paid up for “the hook,” or the extra half-point to make the spread 3.5 points, ensuring that for his bet to hit, the Buccaneers would just have to hold the game inside a field goal. The step, frequently frowned upon by experienced bettors, cost him a strength of -127.

In the end, the extra half-point didn’t matter, as the Buccaneers trounced the reigning Super Bowl champions by a 22-point margin.

“I think it’s great. Obviously Tampa Bay played teriffic,” McIngvale said via Fox 26 Houston’s Mark Berman. “The happiest thing for me is so many customers were thrilled watching that game with their families. They’re getting a free mattress and they made the right choice buying from us during this promotion. Our customers believe in us and put their faith and trust in us.” He added, “It doesn’t get much better than that. It’s a very happy night for me.”
