McDonald’s is going big this spring with a new burger that lives up to its name.
The Big Arch Burger officially hits McDonald’s locations nationwide starting Tuesday, March 3. The fast food giant is calling it its “biggest” burger yet, and it is only here for a limited time.

According to a press release, McDonald’s described the sandwich as its “most McDonald’s, McDonald’s burger.” That is a bold claim, but the build is definitely stacked. The Big Arch Burger features two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, slivered raw onions, shredded lettuce, pickles, and a new Big Arch Sauce. The sauce is described as having “a perfect balance of mustard, pickl,e and sweet tomato flavors.” Everything comes layered inside a toasted bun coated with sesame and poppy seeds.
The Big Arch Burger already had a test run overseas. It was previously introduced in Canada and several European countries. It is also a permanent menu item in the United Kingdom and Ireland, so American customers are just now getting their first official taste.
Meanwhile, Burger King is stepping into the spotlight too. The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper returned to U.S. menus on February 24. That sandwich includes maple bourbon barbecue sauce, crispy onions, jalapeños, maple bacon seasoning, bacon, and American cheese on top of a quarter-pound beef patty.
Fast food fans clearly have options this season. The real question is which burger gets the first bite.
