McDonald’s Employees Help Woman Who Mouthed ‘Help Me’ Escape Abuse in Drive-Thru

A California woman who was in danger sought out help in a McDonald’s drive-thru on Christmas Eve.

The woman went into the McDonald’s and asked an employee to call 911 and hide her. She tried to place an order before the man who is accused of threatening her demanded they go to the drive-thru.

While in the drive-thru, the woman mouthed the words “help me” to the worker.

Soon after this, officers arrived and pulled the vehicle she was in over.

Eduardo Valenzuela is reported to be the man in the vehicle who is accused of threatening the woman, whose identity has not been released.

Officers say Valenzuela allegedly threatened the woman’s life and threatened to use his firearm.

Police found a firearm in the trunk of the car which was stolen.

“This specific McDonald’s location is a designated “safe place for abuse and human trafficking victims,” according to a Facebook post.

The National Safe Place Network designates sites where youth can go in “crisis situations” and this specific McDonald’s is included as one of those sites. These sites go through training on how to support those in need of help.

Valenzuela has been booked on charges including criminal threats, stolen property and possession of a firearm as a felon. His bail is set at $360,000.
