It looks like those closest to Meagan Good were not immediately sold on her relationship with Jonathan Majors.
The “Waist Deep” star sat down with “Today With Hoda and Jenna” this week, where she spilled on her relationship with the embattled actor. While Good wouldn’t reveal exactly how their courtship began, she did admit that “every friend advised” her against dating Majors amid his domestic violence legal woes. However, the 42-year-old decided to trust her heart even though she took their thoughts into consideration.
“At the end of the day, I’m the one that has to live my life,” she explained, adding, “I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. And I also want to live the life that I want to live.”
Good has credited Majors with positively influencing her life since the beginning of their relationship in May 2023. She has even credited him with perfecting her workout routine. Since they began dating, the pair were spotted traveling together, one of the most notable being their trip from New York to Los Angeles. Good’s support never swayed, as she was seen by his side during several court cases. The pair began their relationship as Majors was battling his court case against ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. He was ultimately found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment in December 2023.
The couple reportedly moved in together in February 2024, sharing a space in New York. They made their red carpet debut the following month at the 7th annual African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Special Achievement Awards Luncheon in Los Angeles.
Not everyone will agree with Good’s choice to stay with Majors, but over a year later, the duo is still going strong.
