Akademiks says Meek Mill has cut off his access to Instagram after days of private messages, public threats, and escalating accusations between the longtime rivals. In a September 22 post on X, Akademiks shared a screenshot that appeared to show he could no longer access Meek’s Instagram profile. He also claimed the Philadelphia rapper removed some messages from their conversation before blocking him.
The latest development puts the Meek Mill feud back in the spotlight, but this time the argument is not only about what was allegedly said. It is also about what remains visible in the digital record. Akademiks accused Meek of deleting messages that he characterized as threats while leaving other parts of their conversation intact.
Akademiks wrote, “Damn yall.. Meek Mill blocked me off Instagram and deleted all the messages of him threating me .. he left the other ones tho lol.” He followed with, “Lmao. The 120 days window countdown is on. My boy covering his tracks I respect it.” Akademiks did not explain what he meant by the 120-day countdown in the post.
Akademiks also posted screenshots of messages he said came from his own account during the exchange. One of the messages took aim at Meek’s past business relationship with Atlantic Records and read in part, “It must hurt that I knew Atlantic couldn’t wait for the moment u were done.” Another line stated, “Our own label hated u.” The screenshots have become another set of disputed receipts in the Meek Mill feud, with both men previously releasing portions of private conversations to support their own versions of events.
The Instagram block follows another round of messages Akademiks made public earlier this month. On September 17, Akademiks shared screenshots he claimed were sent by Meek. One message attributed to the rapper said, “Ima piss on you when I see you and take the charge.” Another read, “I wanna see the inside of your house bro come on.” Akademiks then continued the confrontation publicly, writing, “@MeekMill I’m waiting gangsta… last time imma ask.”
Meek has pushed back against Akademiks’ version of the dispute. The Dream Chasers rapper accused the streamer of repeatedly contacting him and producing a steady stream of content about him after their disagreement intensified. “This guy messaging me all day clipping a 1000 videos a day,” Meek wrote while arguing that he had already moved past the original argument. That disagreement has since expanded into a much larger public battle involving screenshots, missed calls, accusations, and challenges exchanged across social media.
The current Meek Mill feud flared again after Lil Durk’s recent federal trial. A Los Angeles jury acquitted Durk on all charges in a murder for hire case on September 11. Following the verdict, Meek publicly criticized Akademiks’ role in hip-hop media and called for people in the culture to stop supporting his platform.
Their issues, however, started years before the latest blowup. Tensions between Akademiks and Meek could be traced back to at least 2017, when Akademiks said Meek took issue with his coverage surrounding the rapper’s “Wins & Losses” era. The two later had periods where their relationship appeared less combative. 21 Savage previously helped get them on the phone in an attempt to settle their differences, but the temporary peace did not end the recurring social media exchanges.
The latest argument has also revived older controversies around Akademiks. Meek referenced a 2024 civil lawsuit accusing Akademiks, whose legal name is Livingston Allen, of rape, sexual assault, and defamation. Rolling Stone reported when the lawsuit was filed that Akademiks denied the allegations and called the case a “shakedown.” Court tracking records from Trellis listed the New Jersey matter as open as of its July 2026 update, with discovery activity reflected on the docket.
For now, the Instagram block appears to have closed at least one direct line of communication between the two, even as their public dispute continues elsewhere. What began as another round of criticism over hip hop media has turned into a fight over messages, alleged threats, and whose screenshots tell the fuller story.
