The father of Megan Kanka is unhappy that Megan Thee Stallion referenced “Megan’s law” for her rap diss “Hiss.”

If you didn’t know, “Megan’s Law” is named after Megan Kanka, a seven-year-old girl who was raped and murdered in 1994 by a neighbor, Jesse Timmendequas, who was previously convicted of assaulting two children. The law was amended to the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Act of 1994 and mandates that law enforcement disclose information about registered sex offenders to the public.

Meg’s lyrics in her song were seen as a diss aimed at Nicki Minaj and her husband, who is a registered sex offender.

According to TMZ, Richard Kanka felt that Megan’s use of his late daughter’s name in her song targeting Nicki was disrespectful. He also noted that Megan’s attempt to raise awareness about the law did not change his feelings.

Kanka expressed that using his daughter’s name in such a graphic and offensive manner was deeply hurtful to his family’s pain.

Despite not personally listening to the song, he became aware of it through his children and, after reading the lyrics, still found it offensive despite some positive interpretations.

TMZ reports that Richard is contemplating legal action to ascertain if Megan’s lyrics crossed a line.
