The Department of Justice is going after Melania Trump’s former best friend and assistant over her explosive #1 selling tell-all book.

On Tuesday, the DOJ filed a lawsuit against Stephanie Winston Wolkoff claiming that she was “specifically prohibited from publishing, reproducing or otherwise divulging any such information to any unauthorized person or entity in whole or in part.” The nondisclosure agreement that she signed while in her role does not have an termination date. They also claim that Wolkoff failed to provide a draft of the book to the White House for review before it was published.

“Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady,” is now a #1 bestseller on Amazon and a New York Times #1 bestseller. It features disturbing claims that Wolkoff gathered during her 2017-2018 tenure in the White House such as Melania renovating the White House bathroom because she did not want to use the same bathroom that former First Lady Michelle Obama used. Wolkoff also confirmed that her former bestie and step daughter Ivanka have a rocky relationship.

DOJ spokesperson Kerri Kupec released a statement saying that the agreement was “a contract with the United States and therefore enforceable by the United States.”

As part of the book’s roll-out, Wolkoff boldly played recorded conversations between her and Melania during stops on her book tour.

In one of those recordings, Melania is heard complaining to Wolkoff about Stormy Daniels getting a Vogue photoshoot with photographer Annie Leibovitz, referring to the adult actress as a “porn hooker.” Daniels claims to have had a sexual relationship with Donald Trump in 2006, not long after the first lady had given birth to their son Barron. She was paid during the 2016 election to keep quiet.

In another of the recordings, Melania says “Give me a f***ing break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that?” when referring to the criticism that she and her husband faced regarding the policy that splits up families illegally crossing into the U.S.

Melania and her team have denied the salacious allegations made in the book.

“This book is not only wildly self-aggrandizing, it’s just not truthful. It is an exercise in bizarre twisting of the truth and misguided blame for the sake of self-pity. It’s unfortunate and concerning that she’s overstated their friendship and her very brief role in the White House to this degree.” Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s chief of staff and spokesperson said in an email to USA Today.

The DOJ is requesting that all profits acquired from the book be set aside in a government’s trust.
