Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric G-Wagon will arrive on the market in a little over a year.
The luxury automotive company gave the world a glimpse of the concept in September 2021 but would not confirm whether they’d be bringing the car to life for consumers. At the time, Mercedes-Benz was unsure if the high-end SUV would last much longer. Thankfully, the company has had a change of heart.
This week, Mercedes-Benz chairman Ola Källenius confirmed that the electric vehicle would arrive in mid-2024. Källenius himself tested the prototype at Mercedes-Benz’s G-Class testing grounds in Graz, Austria, and gave it the green light. However, aside from a timeframe, no other details, such as price, battery size, or power output, have been made public.
Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric vehicle offering alongside nearly every facet of the automotive industry. The company recently unveiled a futuristic concept for an electric tractor-trailer that can travel up to 310 miles when fully charged. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S E Performance is another chargeable car that will arrive in 2024.
Other luxury car companies, such as Porsche and Audi, are gearing up to showcase their EV offerings.
